Veronica E. Rodriguez
Social Services Director

Veronica E. Rodriguez is the new director of the Imperial County Department of Social Services (ICDSS). “Mrs. Rodriguez has displayed a real commitment to public service and knowledge of all social service programs in her 15-year career in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties,” stated District 4 Supervisor Ryan Kelley in the release. “The board and I believe that Mrs. Rodriguez will work diligently to lead ICDSS staff in providing quality service to the county’s needy.”

Mrs. Rodriguez previously served as a Mental Health Program Manager for San Bernardino County Human Services (SBCHS), a position she held since March 2016, where she managed Adult Forensic Services programs. Before becoming a program manager, Mrs. Rodriguez served as a program specialist II and subsequently as a supervising program specialist at SBCHS. Prior to joining SBCHS, Mrs. Rodriguez worked for Riverside County Social Services as a program specialist and then later as the administrative manager.


About her new position, Mrs. Rodriguez stated per the release, “I would like to thank the board of supervisors for their vote of confidence in me to lead and represent the county’s social services department. As the director, I want to ensure that our department provides optimal customer service, creates a valued internal connection, fosters positive relationships with partners, increases efficiencies and produces efficient and effective future leaders. I appreciate the advantages that a smaller community possess and I am excited to become part of this amazing community.”

Mrs. Rodriguez is the daughter of immigrant farmworkers and grew up in the central coast town of Gonzales, California, and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She has two adult children who are currently attending college.
